Graduate and professional students are developing identities that increasingly cross departmental and program lines. Communities of practice support this exploration while maintaining the benefits of the current organizational structure. As an invited Fellow with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Office of Human Resources Development, I supported communities of practice for graduate and professional student engagement.
September 2015 update: Report just released! I conducted an impact evaluation of campus CoPs using Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Impact and Wenger’s CoP framework. This was a wonderful story to tell, filled with tremendous transformation, dedication, and hope. Read here, and watch the video report below.
